Smoke detector batteries should be replaced every six months (even if they are hardwired to AC.) Higher quality Aklaline batteries should be used. The Bainbridge Township Fire Department is available to assist our residents in changing smoke detector batteries as a regular part of our commitment to maintaining a safe community environment.
