PUBLIC EDUCATION The Bainbridge Township Fire Department believes that educating the community to be fire safety conscious is the single most important responsibility of the profession. Through education, many tragedies may be averted. Our Adult Education includes training in fire extinguishers, CPR, carbon monoxide, home fire safety, commercial/industrial fire safety, water safety and first aid. These trainings can be conducted at our fire station or on site at a place of business or association meeting. Contact our Adult Education Coordinator for more information. Our Youth Education Program includes specially designed courses geared towards preschool and elementary children to instruct them on the hazards of playing with fire (the largest cause of death in children under the age of 5), stop, drop & roll, family escape plans, and how to survive in the event of a fire. This program is active year round and increases in demand during Fire Prevention Week at the schools and Safety Town in the summer. The Fire Safety Trailer allows the children to get a real life simulation in a home-like setting and may be our greatest teaching tool. Contact our Youth Education Coordinator for more information.
